Indonesian-born globetrotter (10 countries and counting!), Ara has currently swapped her suitcase for a gym bag, making the US her home. When she’s not writing, she’s grappling on the Jiu-jitsu mats. Ara found Jiu-jitsu to be more than just a sport. Local Jiu-jitsu gyms became her travel hubs on the road, offering a unique sense of camaraderie and connection beyond any tourist activity. Now, she seeks out that same welcoming energy in Wisconsin, Utopia Martial Arts becoming a second home where she can grapple, connect, and continue to fuel her adventurous spirit – one story and submission at a time.
