I came to contact with Vale Tudo and grappling in the Finnish military. Go to try some moves and I loved it. After the army I started cross training in Muay thai and BJJ. This was in March 2005.
After a few months of training I moved to Vaasa to study. There was more MMA based training and submission grappling, so I trained that. In 2007 we were a small group of guys who started training in the gi as well and I got the honor of beeing the coach (most experience white belt of us, hehe). In 2008 we started our own BJJ gym as we had grown a lot during the past year. I was the head coach in BJJ until 2011, when I moved to Espoo. As I had always trained in Hilti BJJ gyms, I started training at MMA Vantaa, but the drive was too much. Luckily for me I found a new home at Hipko in Espoo. I have been training at Hipko since late 2012 and I have been teaching adults BJJ and kids MMA for many years now and still do.
